The Mexico-Bangladesh Virtual Business Platform was launched with the aim of creating better opportunities and bringing together the business community of both countries on a single platform.

The platform was launched on Monday via a webinar hosted by the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE), says a press release from the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FBCCI).

In the program, FBCCI President, Md Jashim Uddin said that the relations between the two countries have gradually improved since July 8, 1975, but have yet to reach their full potential.

Highlighting Bangladesh’s rapid development and favorable investment policy, the FBCCI chief urged Mexico to invest in thriving innovation sectors, including agro-food, leather goods, automotive, light engineering and information technology.

FBCCI Director Abul Kasem Khan gave a presentation on trade and investment opportunities and potentials in Bangladesh and Mexico.

Mexican Ambassador to India (together with Bangladesh) Federico Salas Lotfe, Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico Abida Islam, COMCE Asia-Pacific Trade Section Chairman Sergio Ley and Vice President Agustin Garcia Rechy spoke at the event.

FBCCI Director Prity Chakraborty and Secretary General Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque were present. COMCE Asia-Pacific Trade Section Manager Jessica Ortiz moderated the program.
