A Delhi Capitals squad player has tested positive for Covid-19, forcing the franchise to delay their trip to Pune for the upcoming IPL 2022 clash against the Punjab Kings on Wednesday.

According to ESPN CricinfoCrisis clouds are hanging over DC as a Delhi Capitals player tested positive because of it, the whole team has been quarantined in the hotel for the time being.

The Capitals were due to travel from Mumbai to Pune on Monday, ahead of their game against the Punjab Kings at MCA Stadium on Wednesday.

Team physio Patrick Farhart had tested positive last week and had been sent to solitary confinement. It was the first case of Covid in one of the team bubbles since the start of IPL 2022 on March 26.

Last year, the IPL had to be postponed due to Covic-19 cases in several teams and the second leg was played in the United Arab Emirates.
