Bangladeshi filmmaker to travel to Japan for international competition

Bangladeshi filmmaker Noor E Alam Taimur has been invited to participate in the final phase of the DigiCon6 ASIA competition in Tokyo, Japan, which will be held in November 2022.

On August 26, Japan’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ito Naoki, participated in the Bangladeshi round of the competition, where he presented the gold prize and plane ticket to Taimur, for his short film titled Limbo.

“I didn’t think I would get this far in the competition. It was a very personal film, and in my opinion, made for a niche audience. The fact that it spoke to a wider audience than I was hoping is an enjoyable If my film can add a bit to the global film movement, that will be my reward as a Bangladeshi filmmaker,” Taimur said, when asked to comment.

Organized by TBS Holdings INC., Japan, the DigiCon6 ASIA Awards is a competition held in Asian countries and territories with the aim of recognizing talented video creators for their outstanding works.

The competition was held in Bangladesh for the first time commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Japan.
